Light accumulating snow is on tap Monday night for Southeast Michigan. This round arrives late in the evening and will likely be done before daybreak on Tuesday.
The highest accumulation will be from M-59 southward, with up to 1-2 inches expected. The Thumb will likely see a dusting at most. I would set your alarm a few minutes early on Tuesday in anticipation of a possible slick morning drive. However, if crews are out before sunrise treating the roads, I think we could be in decent shape by the rush hour due to the snow exiting the region before 7 a.m., but it will be highly dependent on whether roads have been treated or not.
Snow chances this week
Another arctic front will bring the potential for light snow late Wednesday, with some minor accumulation possible. Temperatures will remain below average throughout the rest of the week.
Highs will not exceed 32 degrees through the upcoming weekend. Thursday and Friday will be the coldest days this week with wind chill of single digits to lower teens. This could be the coldest air we’ve seen so far this season.
