ROSEVILLE, Mich. – A 15-year-old boy who was charged as an adult in an alleged carjacking has waived his preliminary exam and has been bound over for trial.
Jeremiah Collins is facing several felonies stemming from a reported carjacking that took place in an Applebee’s parking lot that led to a police chase in Roseville.

According to authorities, Collins forcibly took a woman’s Jeep Patriot in the Applebee’s parking lot. The woman immediately called police, who pursued the Jeep.
The chase ended when the Jeep crashed on Gratiot Avenue.
On Dec. 1, Collins was charged with carjacking, third-degree fleeing and eluding police, two counts of malicious destruction of property, assault with a dangerous weapon, assaulting, resisting or obstructing a police officer, driving without a license and failure to stop after a crash.
On Wednesday, Dec. 10, Collins waived his right to a preliminary exam and was bound over to Macomb County Circuit Court. He is scheduled for arraignment on Jan. 5, 2026.
Collins remains lodged at the Macomb County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
