ROSEVILLE, MI – A 13-year-old boy is charged with multiple felonies in connection with a shooting near a Michigan elementary school earlier this week. The incident happened Monday afternoon near Steenland Elementary School in Roseville. The juvenile, who was previously reported to be 14 years old, is accused of shooting a 40-year-old man multiple times. Officers who responded to the scene found the victim in the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds while the suspect fled on foot. His next court date is at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29 before Macomb County Circuit Court Referee Anthony Scotta.

The car rolled over and partially ejected the woman from the vehicle as she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Freeman fled the scene after the truck he was driving hit the back end of another vehicle. Since the incident, the Roseville Police Department and Michigan State Police have been investigating the woman’s death, leading to additional charges. Freeman was arraigned on felony murder, a crime that could lead to life in prison, on Tuesday.

ROSEVILLE, MI – Westbound I-94 is closed in Roseville after a six-vehicle crash that resulted in a fuel spill. Michigan State Police responded to the crash, which occurred on the well-traveled highway near 12 Mile Road at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday. Ultimately, the semi-truck jack knifed and caused a six-vehicle crash, police said. The semi-truck spilled more than 150 gallons of diesel fuel on the freeway during the crash, causing a hazmat situation and a large cleanup process. The freeway remains closed for cleanup.

EMS uses Narcan to revive 18-month-old child who ate heroin
ROSEVILLE, MI – An 18-month-old child is in critical condition after ingesting heroin allegedly belonging to the child’s mother. The mother, a 31-year-old Roseville woman, was arrested at the scene Saturday, July 23, according to the Michigan State Police Metro Detroit Post. The trooper immediately called for EMS and backup and did a sternum rub on the child. Police said the child ingested some heroin and was administered a dose of Narcan. The child then began breathing much better, but was rushed to the hospital where she is in the pediatric intensive care unit listed in critical status.

ROSEVILLE, MI – A mother allegedly refused to turn her three children over to their father after he won custody, spirited them away and went into hiding, FOX 2 Detroit reports. It took police more than three weeks to track down the mother and children, the report said. The Roseville Police Department initially put out an alert for the missing children on July 8. Ruth Amo, 32, was ordered by a Macomb County court last month to turn over the children after their father was awarded custody, police said. After they were found, the children were turned over to child protective services while their father was on his way to pick them up, police said.

ROSEVILLE, MI -- Details are limited but police say a woman is listed in critical condition after a T-bone crash Monday night by a man fleeing from undercover police. According to WDIV-Detroit, the accident occurred on 12 Mile and Hayes roads. Police say a male suspect was being pursued by undercover Warren police officers along westbound 12 Mile Road when the man hit the woman’s car. The identities of the injured woman and the male suspect were not released by police.
