DETROIT – A gas station canopy collapsed on Detroit’s west side after severe weather brought damaging winds.
The incident occurred at a Mobil station at 14545 Plymouth Road on Tuesday (May 19) as storms swept through the region, producing wind gusts exceeding 70 mph in some areas.
No information was immediately available on any injuries.
Images from the scene showed the gas station canopy toppled as powerful winds moved through the area.
The severe weather system moved across Southeast Michigan on Tuesday, bringing reports of downed trees, power outages, and scattered structural damage.
