URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE...CORRECTED National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac MI 514 AM EST Thu Jan 15 2026 Huron-Sanilac- Including the cities of Sandusky and Bad Axe 514 AM EST Thu Jan 15 2026 ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...Huron and Sanilac Counties. * WHEN...Until 10 AM EST this morning. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds gusting 30 to 40 mph will bring reductions to visibility to a half-mile or less and blowing snow under any heavy lake effect snow. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. You can obtain the latest road conditions from the MDOT Michigan Drive Map. During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can also vary greatly.
