WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – A man has died after crashing into a car head-on while driving the wrong way in Redford Township Sunday night.
Redford Township police said a 40-year-old man was driving northbound on the southbound lanes of Telegraph Road at around 11 p.m. on June 7 at a high rate of speed when he crashed into another car head-on at the stop light just north of 5 Mile Road. The crash’s impact caused other cars at the light to be struck as well.

According to police, eight cars were involved in the crash.
The 40-year-old man was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. All other people involved in the crash had minor or no injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
