BERLINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – An individual has been found floating in Lake Erie.
Monroe County say they received 911 dispatch at around 8:30 p.m. on July 11 reporting what appeared to be a body floating in the water near, about 15 feet from shore.

According to authorities the caller was a boater in the area of the Pointe Mouillee State Game area near the Banana Dikes.
Authorities say deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the Berlin Township Fire Department, and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources responded to the area in Berlin Township.
Due to the location of the body, Police say Monroe County Marine Division and Dive Team were activated.
The teams say the individual was recovered from approximately 3 to 4 feet of water.
Police say, the individual was transported to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office for identification and an autopsy.
According to authorities the individual has not yet been identified.
This investigation remains ongoing.
