Michigan Republican chair Karamo, others ordered to pay legal fees for failed election lawsuit
A judge this week ordered Michigan Republican Party Chairperson Kristina Karamo and others to pay more than $58,000 in legal fees incurred by the Detroit clerkโs office to fight a lawsuit they filed challenging absentee voting in the city.
Michigan attorney general says income tax cut for 2023 is temporary
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said Tuesday that an income tax rate reduction expected to be triggered for the 2023 tax year by the stateโs high revenues will be temporary and will revert back to the normal rate the following year.
Michigan House to vote Thursday on Gov. Whitmerโs plan for $180 inflation relief checks
The Michigan House is expected to vote on House Bill 4001 Thursday morning, which, if approved, sends $180 checks which Governor Gretchen Whitmer refers to as โInflation relief,โ to everybody who files a tax return.
