ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. Two individuals were reported as trapped in the Clinton River in Rochester Hills on Tuesday afternoon. The Rochester Hills Fire Department arrived to the area of Avon and South Livernois to rescue the individuals around 5 p.m. Upon arrival firefighters found the individuals out of the water, but their kayaks were wedged in tree debris in the river, officials said. The Rochester Hills Fire Department is urging extreme caution to residents visiting the river due to high water and fast moving currents caused by recent heavy rains. Officials say downtown Midland could be under 9 feet of water due to the condition of the Edenville dam.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. Construction on the I-75 bridge over the Clinton River in Auburn Hills will require lane closures until early December due to weather and unanticipated work, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation. Due to the summer and falls heavy rainfall, in addition to this past springs consistent rain, higher-than-normal water levels have been reported in the Clinton River. Scour protection measures and repair to the bridges substructure have required added design work and repairs, according to MDOT. Additionally, the westbound M-59 ramp to southbound I-75 and the southbound I-75 ramp to eastbound M-59 will remain closed as a safety precaution, according to MDOT. Construction on I-75 includes repairing 21 bridges between South Boulevard and Baldwin Road in Auburn Hills and the resurfacing of both directions of the highway between South Boulevard and Griddings Road.

MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. - Officials have found a boater who fell off a boat in Lake Saint Clair in Macomb County. The 43-year-old man went overboard after 8 p.m. Monday just 2.5 miles out of the Clinton River. He was found shortly afterwards.
