No animal should go without what they need -- hereโs how you can be sure that doesnโt happen
COVID-19 has left many local families with less to spend, but Michigan Humane is hoping not to let that stop pet owners from providing basic necessities for their pets. Anna Chrisman, with Michigan Humane, was on Live in the D to explain how you can help local animals in need this winter. Chrisman said anyone can give Michigan Humane a call if you ever see a pet in need of support. As the Pet of the Week, Pippaโs adoption fees will be covered by the Mike Morse Law Firm. Keep your pets safe this Christmas
The holidays are fast approaching, but some of the festive fun can actually be dangerous for our pets. Anna Chrisman from Michigan Humane described things to look out for over the holidays. She said to watch out for ribbons, gift wrap and bows that youโre tossing out on Christmas morning. Some holiday plants are also a hazard for pets including poinsettias, cacti, and real Christmas trees. To see Kimchi and hear more from Michigan Humane, watch the video above.
Hereโs how you can keep your pets safe during the holidays
Host Tati Amare chatted with Sharon Cooksey from Kidde to find out how to keep our pets safe during the holidays, as well as in the event of an emergency. Itโs also important to keep your pets safe during emergencies, so make sure to incorporate your pets into your escape plans and fire drills. Attempting to teach your pets what to do when an alarm rings can prepare them for a real emergency. Kidde also offers a sticker you can put in your window to alert first responders that there are pets inside the home. For more information on how to keep your pet safe, click here.
