DETROIT – We’re going to get more snowfall over a longer period of time this weekend in Metro Detroit.
From Wednesday night into Thursday morning, most of Southeast Michigan received about 3-6 inches of snow.
Another winter storm is heading our way over the weekend, but the snowfall is going to be much more drawn out over a longer period of time.
Weekend snow timeline
Snow is expected to arrive in Metro Detroit around midnight Friday night into Saturday morning.
That snow will hang around for most of the weekend.
While there could be a few breaks here and there on Saturday, snow will likely continue all throughout the day and into Sunday.
It will snow for most of Sunday, too, according to current projections.
How much snow this weekend?
Models are showing that this winter storm will bring more accumulating snow.
By the time it’s all over Sunday, a comparable amount of snow as this week’s Wednesday-Thursday storm is possible across the area. There could be higher totals in some spots.
Since the end of this snowfall is still several days away, specific totals could certainly change between now and then.
But plan on impactful snowfall both days this weekend.
