WINTER STORM WARNING: Lenawee, Livingston & Washtenaw Counties until 10:00 AM Sunday Morning
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY: Rest of Southeastern Michigan until 10:00 AM Sunday Morning
4WARN WEATHER ALERT: We’ve declared a 4Warn Weather Alert through Sunday Morning as we’re looking at our first significant snowfall moving into the region as we end the Thanksgiving Holiday this weekend.
SUNDAY: Cloudy skies. Snow likely, primarily in the morning. Some areas could see a brief rain/snow wintry mix before changing back over to snow. High: 35.
SUNDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy skies. Much colder temperatures. Low: 18.
MONDAY: Partly to mostly cloudy skies. A chance of snow developing in the evening hours. High: 30.
MONDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies. A chance of snow. Another round of accumulation is possible. Low: 21.
TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy skies. High: 31.
TUESDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies. Low: 17.
As advertised, the snow moved into the region yesterday afternoon and yesterday evening, and has continued through the overnight and early on Sunday morning. We do bring the snow to an end as we look ahead throughout the end of the weekend. Here’s an updated look at what we can expect as our first significant winter storm moves out of the region on Sunday:
SUNDAY MORNING: Snow likely. Parts of Eastern Wayne, Eastern Monroe, and Eastern Macomb Counties could see a brief transition over to a rain/snow wintry mix before changing back over to snow, before winding down and ending.
SUNDAY AFTERNOON: A few flakes/isolated snow shower possible thanks to Northwesterly flow kicking in, blowing and drifting of snow possible with winds gusting to 25-30 MPH by Sunday as well
SUNDAY NIGHT: Decreasing clouds, partly cloudy skies. Any snow or water on the ground will freeze as temperatures drop well below freezing tonight.
We will break up the cloud cover overnight Sunday night into early Monday morning, but the damage will be done. With temperatures falling well into the teens early on Monday morning, we could see slick road conditions heading out the door back to work in school on Monday morning.
We will keep cloud cover in the forecast, looking ahead into early next week on Monday, but we have another system that will move into the region Monday night, early on Tuesday morning, and this will also bring another chance of snow that could potentially leave an additional accumulation before it’s all said and done. High temperatures heading into the upper 20s and lower 30s on Monday afternoon, then falling back into the teens overnight Monday night into early Tuesday morning.
Dry weather moves back into the forecast by the time we get to the middle of the week, for Wednesday and Thursday. But we are not looking at a substantial warm-up, heading into the middle and end of the week as well. High temperatures heading into the low end of the 30s on Wednesday, then getting colder once again. Expect daytime highs to drop into the upper 20s for Thursday and into next Friday. Another weak disturbance moves back into the region late Wednesday night and brings in another chance of snow into the region.
While we keep the cloud cover around it for Thursday, it does look like we have another chance for snow moving into the region by the end of next week on Friday, and continuing into early on Saturday morning. High temperatures out of the 20s at the end of the week, warming into the lower 30s by the start of next weekend. Will continue to fine-tune that forecast as we head into the start of next week.
