After cloud cover to end the week, we will keep the cloud cover under the forecast, looking ahead throughout the start of the weekend on Saturday, before more winter weather returns to the forecast by the end of the weekend.

We’re watching an area of low pressure work to the east of the region through the start of the weekend, which is keeping a little bit of winter weather over portions of northern Lower Michigan, but for Metro Detroit, mostly cloudy skies will control the forecast to start the weekend. High temperatures are expected to remain above average, and into the upper 30s and lower 40s by Saturday afternoon.

Our next chance of winter weather moves into the region, looking ahead to the end of the weekend on Sunday. This is thanks to an area of low pressure, which will bring blizzard conditions to areas like New York City and down into portions of Eastern New Jersey.

Here in Metro Detroit, a light accumulation is possible. Keep in mind the ground is warm enough that we are not looking for much snow accumulation through the end of the weekend on Sunday. High temperature is heading back into the upper 30s by Sunday afternoon.

Cloud cover sticks around to start next week on Monday, before another system moves into the region, looking ahead into the day on Tuesday. This brings a chance of snow on Tuesday afternoon and into Tuesday evening. High temperatures, just a bit colder as we only warm into the low 30s by Tuesday afternoon.

Then, we’re looking at another system working in for late Wednesday and into Thursday. As temperatures warm into the low 40s on Wednesday, there will be a chance of rain and snow showers across the region late Wednesday and into Thursday. High temperatures are getting a bit cooler, warming into the mid 30s by Thursday afternoon.

Expect drier weather to move into the region by the end of next week, on Friday. A mixture of sunshine and clouds can be expected, with high temperatures warming back into the low 40s by Friday afternoon.
