After several days of comfortable, seasonable weather, temperatures are on the rise across Metro Detroit as a warming trend settles into Southeast Michigan.
Expect plenty of warm weather today and Friday, with afternoon highs climbing into the mid to upper 80s. Clouds will gradually increase heading into Friday as the next weather system approaches the Great Lakes, but most of the daylight hours will remain dry.
The forecast becomes more active Friday evening as scattered to numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms develop across the region. Periods of rain and a few non-severe thunderstorms are expected to continue through at least part of Saturday. While it won’t be raining the entire time, those with outdoor plans should be prepared for changing weather conditions and keep an eye on the latest forecast. There is a slight chance for a shower on Sunday, but we should remain mainly dry for the final round of the Rocket Classic at the Detroit Golf Club.
Once the weekend system moves out, dry weather quickly returns. Sunshine and warmer temperatures are expected to build back into Southeast Michigan early next week as high pressure re-establishes itself across the region. By the middle of next week, afternoon temperatures are forecast to approach 90 degrees, signaling another taste of summer heat. Humidity levels will also begin to increase, making it feel noticeably warmer as we head into the first full week of August.
