A winter storm is set to move through Metro Detroit on Wednesday and Thursday, bringing the biggest snowfall of the season so far.
This storm will bring 4-7 inches of snow to the region. A winter storm watch has been issued for all of Southeast Michigan for Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning. The 4Warn Weather team expects this to be upgraded to a warning or advisory.
Here’s a timeline of when to expect snow on Wednesday:
Snow expected to begin -- 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025
Light snowfall could begin at around 3-4 p.m. on Wednesday.
Heavy snow expected to fall -- 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025
Heavier snow is expected to begin at around 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday.
When will the snowfall end?
The heavy snowfall will continue until around 2-3 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13.
At around 7 a.m. on Thursday, the snow will taper off as it pushes to the northeast.
Snow totals
This storm is expected to bring 4-7 inches of snow to Southeast Michigan, although adjustments to these totals are likely depending on trends in the forecast track of this storm system.
Monroe and Lenawee counties will likely see 3-5 inches.
