Toasty temperatures continue into next week, along with storm chances

Southeast Michigan will keep temperatures above normal into the start of the coming week, but along with the heat will come chances for strong thunderstorms

4Warn Weather - After a warm start to the weekend, the heat will continue into the start of the coming week. Along with the higher temperatures Southeast Michigan will have the possibility of rain and storms.

Tonight most will drop into the mid and upper 50s under partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will be slightly cooler into the thumb.

Winds will turn calm tonight before picking up to 5-10 mph Sunday out of the south-southeast. Highs tomorrow will be around 80° once again.

We’ll see sun and clouds for the second half of the weekend with the chance for scattered showers and storms. A few storms may be strong, especially in the afternoon and evening. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Marginal Risk (level 1/5) for severe weather near I-96 and northward Sunday.

Monday will also carry a chance for isolated strong storms. The Storm Prediction Center has placed Southeast Michigan under Marginal (green, level 1/5) and Slight (yellow, level 2/5) Risks for severe weather Monday.

Monday will start with bright sunshine and remain mostly sunny through midday. Storms, some of which may have damaging winds and large hail, and heavy rain, look to develop in the afternoon.

Monday and Tuesday will both be hot with highs near 90°.

It’s not until Wednesday that highs return toward average, near the 70-degree mark. We’ll stay closer to normal and see some sun to finish the workweek.
