A fall chill is in the air across Southeast Michigan to start the week as a cooler air mass settles over the region. Temperatures will likely drop into the 40s in spots this morning, making for the coolest bus stop of the season so far.
Despite the chilly start, sunshine will quickly take over. Mostly sunny skies and highs around 70 degrees are expected today, with comfortable conditions through the afternoon.
A big warm-up arrives Tuesday as temperatures climb nearly 10 degrees, with highs touching the low 80s. It will also become increasingly warmer and more humid throughout the day.
That increasing warmth and humidity will help set the stage for a return to unsettled weather Tuesday night into late week. A slow-moving front will bring multiple chances for showers and thunderstorms through the middle of the week.
Behind the warm-up, temperatures settle back into a more seasonal pattern, with highs in the mid-70s for the remainder of the week.
