Who knew that Metro Detroiters still have a love for Santa Bears?
We asked readers if they remembered the lovable stuffed animal Santa Bears from Hudson’s from back in the day. Every year, the department store came out with a new Santa Bear, complete with a fun little outfit the commemorated the year.

It turns out that not only do a lot of people still display their Santa Bears each year, a lot of people own almost every single one. The amount of photos we had submitted of dozens of Santa Bears was almost mind blowing. People really loved collecting these adorable bears.

Because each Santa Bear is so unique, we thought I’d be cool to have a record or log of every Santa Bear that was made while they were produced. Hudson’s came out with a new one from 1985-2007. That’s 22 years of Santa Bears!
Luckily, an owner of all of the Santa Bears (plus a whole lot more Santa Bear memorabilia) reached out to us, and his collection is rather impressive.
Joshua Simpson has an Instagram account called @hibernationstation, where he shows off his extensive Santa Bear collection. Not only does he have every bear that was made during those 21 years, but he has blankets, snow globes and so much more that features Santa Bears.
