Jay Kuhlman, Executive Producer-Live In The D – Hey readers. It’s Jay here. First, I want to thank you for continuing to read The Buzz from “Live In The D.” I know it’s a way many of you stay connected with Tati, the show, and with things happening in and around Detroit.

Sometimes, a break is needed to focus on bigger, better things -- and that’s what Tati and I are going to do. There are things we are working on behind the scenes that we will share with you in a few weeks, but for now, this will temporarily be the last “Live In The D” newsletter until mid- to late March. Please keep tuning in to watch the show Monday through Friday! You can also keep up on all the segments we feature on our “Live In The D” page at ClickOnDetroit.com.

At Local 4, we take pride in our passion to be innovative and work together as a team to bring you the best of Detroit that we can showcase. That’s exactly what we’re going to focus on backstage over these next several weeks. We’ll miss connecting with you through the newsletter, but we aren’t going anywhere, and we will talk with you soon!

Here’s what we’re talking about today

❤️ When you’re looking for love, what are some of the most important things you look for? Should credit score be considered? Look at what one dating app is doing.

📦 Right now, the process of returning things that you order online is pretty easy, and it doesn’t cost a thing. But that could be changing soon, and the question is, would it deter you from shopping online?

Did you catch what’s on the menu?

🍽️ It is Lenten season, and for many that means finding places with fish and other seafood options. So, when this time of year comes around, where can you go to find a good catch of the day? April Morton headed out to Terry’s Terrace in Macomb County, which is known for their seafood options. You have to see what they’re doing that puts a spin on chicken and waffles.

In case you missed it

Men's style trends for 2024 (Copyright 2024 by WDIV ClickOnDetroit - All rights reserved.)

👔 What trends do you agree with? When it comes to style, women are often thought of first, but for men there are trends as well. So, what is going to be hot in 2024? And what is a trend that’s better to leave in the closet? Local 4 Style Editor Jon Jordan walked through what you should leave on the rack and what you should put on your back when it comes to what men should wear. See if you agree.

👩‍🍳 How did they make that? It’s not a cookie, but it’s like a cookie, and cake, all rolled into one. Macarons are special and handmade. For one woman in Metro Detroit, she’s perfected her recipe at a young age and owns her own shop where she creates special flavors throughout the year, along with standard offerings. She joined Tati in studio and gave her a lesson on what it takes to make a macaron.

From our sponsors and partners

Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan go scuba diving (Copyright 2024 by WDIV ClickOnDetroit - All rights reserved.)

🍪 When you hear Girl Scouts, the first that may come to mind are cookies. It makes sense because of the popularity of Girl Scout cookies. But, our sponsor the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan wants you to know this organization is much more than Thin Mints and Tagalongs. We recently featured everything they do on a special “Live In The D.” Their CEO shared what GSSEM is about beyond the cookie. We also saw the experiences they have from scuba diving to playing chess with champions.

💆‍♂️ Self-care and self-love. Who wouldn’t want more of that? Our sponsor MassageLuXe can help you with both and get you started on a path to feeling more relaxed and stress free. Their message is clear: Massages are more than relaxation, and they have numerous health benefits. They joined us in studio to share some of what they offer and the points where you may be holding the most stress.
