Is the holiday season already here?

Friends of ‘Live In The D’ share their thoughts on when the holiday season begins

It’s only the first week of November, but you might have noticed that some people are already embracing the excitement of the holidays. Is it too soon, or just on time?

The holiday season was the topic of discussion during the What’s the Buzz segment on “Live In The D” on Monday. Host Tati Amare and guest host Jason Hall from RiDetroit were joined by friends of the show author and motivational speaker Mimi Brown and Orlando Bailey who is the executive director of Outlier Media and co-host of the Authentically Detroit podcast.

First, the group talked about whether the holiday season has officially begun.

“Bring on the holidays!,” Orlando said.

Tati said she thinks the holiday season has already started. Meanwhile, Mimi said it doesn’t start until after Thanksgiving.

The group also talked about whether they’ve already started their holiday shopping. Mimi said that she’s already started shopping and that there are some things hidden in her home already. Mimi explained that she’s a very intentional gift giver.

Orlando hasn’t started his holiday shopping yet, but he said he’s looking. Orlando mentioned that his holiday shopping starts after Oprah releases her favorite things list.

Finally, the conversation moved to putting up Christmas trees. Both Orlando and Mimi said they put up their trees right after Thanksgiving.
