Metro Detroit native Bruce Campbell is back for more horror fun

He says the twist and turns of his new show will keep you guessing

It’s the weekend which means there is new entertainment on screens in theaters and at home. From movies to series, Movie Reviewer Greg Russell took a look at what’s new to watch this week.

First, Russell talked about the movie “Red One” which stars Detroit native J.K. Simmons as Santa who gets kidnapped before Christmas. It’s then up to characters played by Dwayne Johnson and Christ Evans to track down Red One and save Christmas. Russell said, “It’s for 13+ as far as age, guaranteed. And it’s all about Santa getting kidnapped because of course there’s always some group that doesn’t want Christmas to happen.” Russell gave the movie a four out of a possible five reels.

Next, Russell talked about the series “Hysteria” on Peacock. The series is set in 1980s Detroit and is all about teenagers who start to go missing after they become fans of a satanic rock band. Metro Detroiter Bruce Campbell stars in the series and talked to Russell about “Hysteria”. “I’m picky when it comes to horror,” said Campbell. “Like, what new have you got to bring to the table? But, I love the setting, I love the time period, and they did a good job writing my character.” Russell said the series is a lot of fun, especially because of its Michigan connections.

Russell also talked about the new Netflix documentary “Return of the King: The Fall and Rise of Elvis Presley”. To hear what he had to say about the film, and see his interviews, click the video player above.
