Re-visit ‘Y2K’ in a different way this weekend

A new comedy/horror movies puts a spin on the turn of the millennium

The big movies released in November will likely continue to dominate the box office this weekend, but there are some new movies on screens to consider. Movie reviewer Greg Russell appeared on “Live In The D” to talk about the new movie “Y2K” and the documentary “The Only Girl In The Orchestra”.

In “Y2K”, teenagers are faced with a different scenario on a horror ridden New Year’s Ever in 1999. While history shows nothing happened that evening, the movie takes a comedic turn and imagines electronics running wild and killing anything in their path. Russell says it’s fun, if you enjoy those types of campy-horror movies. He gave it three out of 5 reels.

Next, Russell talked about the new Netflix short documentary “The Only Girl In The Orchestra”. This is about the true life story of the first woman accepted into the New York Philharmonic. To see what Russell had to say about the documentary, click the video player above.
