It’s all about the local quality made by one family for your family

When it comes to your holiday meal, your main course should be a show stopper

The holidays are right around the corner and as everyone thinks about checking their list, it’s not just about the gifts. It’s also about the list for the holiday dinner. When it comes to what you serve your family you want to make sure it’s high quality, and that’s exactly what Country Smoke House in Almont prides itself on. This family owned business has been serving the community for decades, and father-daughter duo Steve Francis and Stephanie Doss appeared on “Live In The D” to share a little about what they offer.

“We started back in ‘86 in a one car garage,” said Francis. “It just kinda morphed into 85 employees later, and 38,000 square feet and all these homemade products.”

One of the things the store prides itself on is that they make all their own meats. From dry aged sausage, to venison jerky, and snack sticks, you can find everything you would need to make a charcuterie board for a holiday appetizer. You can also find an assortment of cheeses in the store as well.

When it comes to the main meal, they offer everything. From spiral sliced ham, to smoked turkey, they’ve got you covered for your main dish. Francis even sliced a freshly cooked prime rib roast on-air. “We can make a bad cook a good cook. If you want to pretend you made it, we’ll have it all ready for you,” said Francis.

If you’re looking for gifts, Country Smoke House also offers customizable gift boxes. “You can order it online to have it shipped to your home, or we can have you come in the store, pick out what you want, and we can ship it to your friends, or you can take it with you,” said Doss.

Finally, when it comes to quality, it’s all about local. Francis says a lot of their product is locally raised, and they process everything in house, so there’s better control of what goes into the food from farm to table.
