Are your hands, dry, cracked, or ashy? You’re not alone, especially during the dry, cold winter in Michigan.
Local 4 Style Editor Jon Jordan has some advice for keeping your hands smooth and moisturized.
First, Jon says to remove dead skin. He suggests using tools like pumice stones, exfoliating mitts, terrycloth, or cuticle files.
Next, Jon encourages you to rethink the products you’re using. He said to consider using more “cloudy” products versus “clear” products because he said that cloudy products can mean there’s more moisturizing ingredients for hand soap, shampoo, and body wash.
Another suggestion from Jon is to repurpose products. He said foot or heel creams are typically thicker and may be more effective on other parts of your body, especially your hands and elbows.
Jon also said when you’re using conditioner in the shower, don’t stop at your scalp. Jon’s advice is to just keep slathering it on until you reach your toes.
