If you want to expand dining options to choose from you can find them at Lillie Mae’s restaurant in Southfield. The restaurant offers a sit down and serve option, as well has a buffet line for those wanting a quicker, or carry out option.
One thing the staff says is no matter how you choose to dine, the food is going to be delicious. “We have turkey legs, baked and fried chicken, catfish, black eye peas,” and so much more Chef Hakeem Biddle said.
The restaurant has traditional soul food dishes, but with a unique twist, like the jambalaya turkey leg and catfish etouffe.
Operations Director Johnny Cannon said the recipes and the restaurants name was inspired by his aunt Lillie Mae. “Lillie Mae’s pays homage to my Aunt. She was the matriarch of the family,” Cannon said.
When you walk into the restaurant you’ll see photos of Lillie Mae being honored on the wall.
