It’s an exciting time for Detroit Lions fans as they continue supporting the team and its historic season.
As fans demonstrate their pride for the team, some loyal fans also ensure their pets are part of the excitement as products are in high demand.
Fans are sharing photos of their pets in jerseys, scarves, and other Lions paraphernalia on social media.
At Boujee Pucci Cuts in St. Clair Shores, Lions-themed pet items, including collars, bow ties, and bandanas, are flying off the shelves.
“I went out this morning and looked everywhere,” said Spa owner Mia Trudel. When I mean everywhere, I went to all of the craft shops, anywhere fabric, and even down to where we were thinking about it, cutting up bed sheets to make bandanas. They were sold out everywhere.”
It’s a similar story at Sittin’ Pretty Pet Spa in Eastpointe, Michigan.
“We have a lot of Lions stuff that has been flying off the shelve,” said Laura Babecki. “We’ve got some leashes. We’ve got cute little bow ties. And I, myself, I also have the keychain.”
Babecki said she’s already on her second shipment of Lions swag for pets.
“I am not surprised,” Babecki said. “People are all about their pets. They’re pets, and they want to support their game. They want to support their family. They are all about dressing the pets up.”
Pet groomers said the requests for Lions-inspired spa treatments are also increasing. Some dog owners are making appointments to have their dogs’ hair dyed blue as the Lions continue to advance.
Some groomers are also staging Lions-themed photo shoots.
Sittin’ Pretty Pet Spa has lion’s mane costumes for dogs and a stadium backdrop for photos.
