DEARBORN, Mich. – A Dearborn man was sentenced to prison for drugging and sexually abusing a teen on video.

Prosecutors said Haitham Sami Bazzi, 28, was sentenced to 17 years in federal prison for sexually exploiting a child.

Prosecutors said Bazzi met the 16-year-old victim in the summer of 2021. He gave the teen methamphetamine and sexually exploited the teen on camera.

The FBI became aware of the case after a man reported to Dearborn police that Bazzi showed him pictures and videos of children being sexually exploited.

Dearborn police searched Bazzi’s home and turned everything over to the FBI. The FBI found child sexually abusive material, including a video of the minor victim.

“I would also like to thank the concerned citizen who dared to stand up to Mr. Bazzi and speak for our victim by reporting his heinous crimes to law enforcement. As a member of the law enforcement community, we can achieve tremendous success in partnership with our concerned citizens,” Cheyvoryea Gibson, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Michigan said.
