DETROIT – After luring General Motors from the Renaissance Center, Bedrock has announced more big tenants for its new Hudson’s building site in Downtown Detroit.

Edition, a global hotel brand, will open in the Hudson’s tower, establishing Detroit’s first five-star hotel. It’ll feature four diverse food and beverage outlets, a pool, a large outdoor terrace, a fitness center, spa and more than 16,000 square feet of event space.

The Detroit Edition will also feature high-rise condos, which will, with the hotel, occupy all 45 floors in the tower at 1208 Woodward Avenue.

“Hudson’s Detroit is synonymous with excellence, style and grit, so it is only fitting that it will be home to legendary and iconic global brands,” said Dan Gilbert, Founder of Bedrock. “EDITION’S eagerness to enter the Detroit market and introduce its first property in the Midwest, is a true testament of how magnetic our city is today. Hudson’s will be a catalyst for attracting visitors, residents and businesses to the city and we welcome them to enjoy all the amenities, entertainment, retail, hospitality and dining that Detroiters know and love.”

Bedrock says the high-rise condos will feature 360-degree views of the Detroit River and city, with 97 condos for sale, above the hotel floors.

“The Residences” will offer over 14,000 square feet of exclusive, residents-only indoor and outdoor amenities as well as shared access to amenities at The Detroit Edition including a fitness center, outdoor terrace, pool and services such as valet parking, in-residence dining, housekeeping and other day-to-day offerings.

Hudson’s Detroit is scheduled to be available for commercial tenant build out by 2025. Work is already underway on condos and the hotel, with availabilities starting in 2027.
