TROY, Mich. – An Oakland County woman won more than $682,000 after revealing three jackpot symbols on her lottery ticket.
The 87-year-old woman bought a Jumbo Jackpot Slots Fast Cash ticket Dec. 30 at the Square Lake Marathon gas station on Livernois Road in Troy.
“I play Fast Cash once a week,” she said. “Right after I bought the ticket, I looked it over and saw three jackpot symbols. I knew what I was seeing, but I didn’t believe it. I had a friend look the ticket over, and he confirmed I wasn’t seeing things and really did win the jackpot.”
Her total winnings: $682,784.
“I had a hard time believing I’d really won, so I kept it to myself for awhile,” she said. “After a few weeks, I finally told my family. They couldn’t believe that I was able to keep it a secret for so long and were ecstatic.”
The woman claimed her prize at Michigan Lottery headquarters and chose to remain anonymous.
She said she plans to finish some home improvements and invest her winnings.
