WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – DTE Energy responded to reports of a “strong natural gas” smell in Grosse Pointe Woods on Saturday.

Grosse Pointe Woods officials said that DTE Energy has investigated the odor and has determined that it is not a gas leak. There is no cause for concern.

The gas odor is miles wide and multiple communities are being affected.

DTE Energy and the public safety department have received many phone calls and they are asking for residents to “be patient” as DTE fixes the issue.
