DETROIT – Residents are being asked to avoid the area of Henry Ford Hospital on West Grand Boulevard in Detroit as police search for a man who escaped their custody.
Detroit police said on the morning of Sunday, May 19, 2024, a Cortez Rabb, 22, who was in Detroit police custody for felony offenses, was transported to the Henry Ford Hospital. Police did not specify exactly what Rabb had been arrested for.
While officers were placing Rabb in a hospital bed, he escaped officers and fled the hospital, officials said. There was a Detroit police command post established with multiple units working to locate the man.
If anyone finds Rabb, they are asked not to approach him and to instead call 911.
