The Sheriff’s Office said Moore was headed to Warren, where her estranged husband William Moore lived, to pick up their 2-year-old son. She was reportedly going to take their son to Independence Township, where she was staying with her parents. Moore never arrived in Warren and hasn’t been seen since.

She was 28 years old at the time.

Officials said her her car was found in Madison Heights a week after she went missing at the Red Roof Inn at 14 Mile and John R roads. The car was locked, the keys were missing and there was no evidence of a struggle.

Moore had reportedly made a down payment on a new home in Auburn Hills for her and her son. Authorities said all her clothes were left behind and her bank account hasn’t been touched since her disappearance.

The husband was previously considered a suspect in the case, but authorities said he was never arrested or charged. A swimming pool that was filled at the Warren home that had been filed in was dug up by police, but no body was found.

Thursday will mark 39 years since she was last seen. Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard is urging anyone who may know something to come forward.

“Sometimes, after years have passed, people that had information or knowledge are more willing to share and come forward. Often times the guilt has been weighing on them or the fear has diminished,” Bouchard said. “Please help us give this family some closure.
