WARREN, Mich. – A 9-year-old boy has been rescued after nearly drowning at a Warren pool.

The rescue occurred on Monday (June 17) at 5:55 p.m. at the Kings Pointe Apartment Complex in the 14863 block of East 12 Mile Road.

The Warren Police and Fire Units were dispatched to the apartment complex at the pool area, where they observed family members actively performing CPR on the 9-year-old boy.

Officials say adults had rescued the 9-year-old after remaining underwater for several minutes.

Officers said they immediately assessed the child and confirmed that he was breathing independently.

Officials said they stood by with the 9-year-old and his family until the Warren Fire Department arrived and took over medical care.

The Warren Fire Department said they treated and transported the child to an area hospital, and Warren officers escorted the ambulance to the hospital.

Officials say the boy remains in critical but stable condition as of 9 p.m.
