MONROE COUNTY, Mich. – Four people reported tingling sensations and two were transported to a hospital after lightning struck the Milan Dragway.

The Milan Area Fire Department said witnesses reported a single lightning strike at around 9:15 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024, during a concert at the Milan Dragway following the first annual Mud Bash.

The fire department was at the Mud Bash on standby with a fire truck and EMS crews. Crews were approached by witnesses who reported the lighting strike.

Four people reported tingling sensations and were checked on scene by fire personnel. Two were taken to a hospital, kept overnight, and released Sunday morning. Nobody was seriously injured.
