DETROIT – The Detroit Pistons have hired G League coach Kevin Burleson as an assistant coach.
ESPN Senior NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski first reported Burleson’s hiring on Friday (July 12) at 9:10 p.m. on X where he said the former Houston Rockets G League head coach was joining new Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff’s staff.

Burleson is the older brother of former Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson. He said he was proud of him and that the city now has another Burleson in the D.

Kevin spent two seasons with the Rockets G League team, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Before that, the former 6′3″ guard played for the Charlotte Bobcats in the National Basketball Association from 2005-2006.
