WARREN, Mich. – Canton Township police arrested a man when he came outside in his underwear, and they found a gun right next to his infant daughter while taking him back inside to get pants.
Officers from Canton Township said they were investigating Brandon Patrick Mills, 33, of Warren, for an auto theft from June 2024.
While they were outside Mills’ home in Warren, police said they saw him walk outside in his underwear and rummage through an Audi SUV parked in the street.
They arrested Mills in front of his house and placed him in handcuffs. He asked to go inside the house to get a pair of pants.
As police walked into the house with Mills, they asked if he had any weapons. He told them there was a gun on his bedroom dresser.
Officers found a loaded 9 mm Glock handgun in that spot, and it was about three feet away from his infant daughter, they said. Police took the gun and called Child Protective Services.
Mills has more than a dozen previous felony convictions. He was sentenced to 15-300 months in prison for breaking and entering a car in 2018 and 24-240 months for an arson conviction in 2013.
The criminal complaint concludes that Mills possessed a gun when he knew he wasn’t allowed to do so because of his criminal history.
