TROY, Mich. – A blood drive is scheduled for this weekend to support one of the families affected by the shooting at a Rochester Hills splash pad.

A mother and her two sons were victims of the June 16, 2024, shooting and had to receive life-saving blood transfusions while in surgery.

They want to raise awareness about the importance of donating blood, so a blood drive has been set up for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at Faith Lutheran Church on Dequindre Road in Troy.

They have partnered with the American Red Cross for the event.

The family has been providing updates on this GoFundMe page.
