MICHIGAN – The viewing line is determined by NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center. The more north you travel, the greater the chance viewing the aurora borealis.

Where is the best place to look?

To get the best chance of spotting the northern lights, try distancing yourself from city lights. Focusing on the northern horizon will help as well. The phenomenon may not be visible to the naked eye, so using your phone will an extended exposure time could help capture it on the screen.
