3 teens shot after fight on Detroit’s west side

Everybody is expected to make a full recovery

DETROIT – Three teenagers have been shot after a fight on Detroit’s west side.

The incident occurred on Thursday (Oct. 3) at 8:12 p.m. on Puritan Avenue and Wisconsin Street.

Detroit police Chief James White said officials from the 12th Precinct arrived on the scene in less than five minutes.

“As they were leaving the location, walking up Puritan near Wisconsin, a silver sedan approached and fired shots at the three teens, ages 15, 16, and 17,” said White. “All three were struck and taken to an area hospital.”

White said they have good information and a good description of the vehicle, and they’re currently searching for it.

“We are going to continue looking for the vehicle until we find who we are looking for,” White said.

White said they’ve recovered video assets, which would close the case promptly.

“We’re confident that it’s closable, and we’re confident that no one in the community is at risk as it is isolated to this fight,” White said. “If anybody saw anything or if anyone was in the area, please reach out to our department and let us know.”
