DETROIT – Registered voters in Michigan can vote early in person for all statewide and federal elections.

Detroit voters can begin voting in the Nov. 5, 2024, presidential election on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024.

Detroit’s early voting locations

The city of Detroit has 14 early voting sites that will be open every day from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

When does early voting start in other cities?

Canton Township and East Lansing voters can begin voting early on Monday, Oct. 21.

Early voting in the rest of the state begins on Saturday, Oct. 26.

When does early voting end?

Early voting ends on Sunday, Nov. 3.

What is the early voting process like?

When you go to vote early, you will be issued a ballot and you will insert the ballot directly into a tabulator, just like you would on Election Day.

Can I still request an absentee ballot?

If you’re requesting an absentee ballot by mail or online, you should do so at least 15 days before Election Day.

Absentee ballots can be requested in person at your local clerk’s office until 4 p.m. the day before Election Day.
