Macomb County siblings charged in connection to deadly shooting of sister’s boyfriend

MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – A Warren brother and sister were charged in connection to the shooting and killing of their sister’s boyfriend.

Deandre Bernard Jones, 32, drove to a Warren home on Nov. 8 where Keshawna Smith, 30, and an unnamed sister were meeting with Stanley Smith Jr., 23.

Jones met the three outside the home and allegedly shot Smith Jr., killing him.

Smith is accused of deleting messages and call logs between herself and Jones related to the shooting.

Jones was charged with the following:

  • Second-Degree Murder - faces up to life in prison
  • Felony Firearm - a two-year sentence
  • Solicitation of Tampering with Evidence - a maximum sentence of five years

Smith was charged with Tampering with Evidence, a felony punishable up to ten years in prison.

Jones and Smith are expected to appear in court for their probable cause hearings on Nov. 26, 2024, and preliminary examinations on Dec. 3, 2024.
