Group of men brandish firearm after trying to provoke fight with University of Michigan students

Police looking for more information

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Ann Arbor police are looking for more information after a group of men brandished a firearm at a group of University of Michigan students early Sunday morning.

On Nov. 17, at around 1:20 a.m. in the 600 block of Oxford Road, police said a group of college-aged men approached a group of University of Michigan students on a porch, tried to provoke a fight and one of the suspects allegedly showed a handgun before leaving the area.

Police believe this was an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public.

Ann Arbor police recommend that students use a blue light emergency phone or call 911 if they are threatened and report suspicious behavior by calling 911 or using the confidential tip line at 1-800-863-1355.
