Pedestrian listed in critical condition after being hit by vehicle in Southgate

Pedestrian was man crossing Trent Road from west to east in the crosswalk

SOUTHGATE, Mich. – A pedestrian has been listed in critical condition after he was hit by a vehicle in Southgate.

The incident occurred on Monday (Nov. 18) at 5 p.m. in the area of Trenton Road south of Eureka Road.

Officials said the man was crossing Trent Road from west to east in the crosswalk when he was struck by the vehicle.

The vehicle turned south onto Trenton Road from the MJR Theaters parking lot.

Officials said the driver remained on the scene after the accident so the police could arrive.

There was no indication of intoxicants from the driver, and the driver cooperated with the investigation.

The man was listed in stable but critical condition and was taken to Corwell Health Hospital in Trenton.
