PORT HURON, Mich. – Five businesses in Port Huron were cited for selling alcohol to a minor after they sold to underage decoys during a police operation.

On Wednesday, Nov. 13, decoys were sent to 22 restaurants and bars in Port Huron that are licensed to sell alcohol by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission.

Decoys checked 22 businesses, and 17 of them were in compliance, and refused to sell to the decoys, according to police.

The following four businesses sold to the decoys and were cited for selling alcohol to a minor:

  • Zebra Bar, 522 Quay St., Port Huron, MI 48060
  • Vintage Tavern, 103 Michigan Ave., Port Huron, MI 48060
  • Colony Bar, 318 Grand River Ave., Port Huron, MI 48060
  • Sperry’s Moviehouse, 301 Huron Ave., Port Huron, MI 48060
  • Tailgators, 1934 Lapeer Ave., Port Huron, MI 48060

“The Port Huron Police Department would like to thank all of the establishments that were found to be in compliance and encourage all licensed establishments to check IDs to prevent the use of alcohol by underage minors,” Port Huron police said in a release.
