2 teens arrested in connection to armed robbery at Ann Arbor mall

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Two teenagers were arrested on Monday after an alleged armed robbery at a store in Briarwood Mall Monday night.

A 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy went inside the Champs Sports store just after 8 p.m. on Nov. 25, 2024. An employee reported to police that one of the boys showed a gun while taking items from the store without paying.

One teen was arrested with the help of a canine officer, and the other was found and arrested near the scene. Officers recovered two guns, an extended magazine and the stolen items from the store.

Both were lodged at the Washtenaw County Youth Detention Center. Charges are pending prosecutor review.
