DETROIT – America’s Thanksgiving Parade, presented by Gardner White, is a tradition that attracts people from all over to visit downtown Detroit.
Local 4 takes you there to show you the excitement that came with the parade’s 98th year.

America Thanksgiving Parade, presented by Gardner White, marks the start of the holiday season.
From the turkey trotters dressed up in their holiday cheer to the spectators wearing Christmas colors, it really is a site to see.
But this year, there seems to be a wave of blue - Honolulu blue.
For many families, the turkey trot and the parade are the kickoff tailgate for the annual Thanksgiving Lions game.
But even those not going to the game want to show their Lions pride as the team is having a special year.
And since America’s Thanksgiving Parade has been a tradition for almost a century, Detroit knows a thing or two about throwing a parade.
