PONTIAC, Mich. – An investigation into possible human trafficking resulted in the arrest 43-year-old man from Waterford.
The investigation into Quincy Lamar Bland began on Nov. 25 after a woman reportedly told police that she and another woman were being trafficked out of multiple hotels across Oakland County. Authorities believe Bland controlled the women through violence, threats of violence and drugs. He reportedly would use sometimes drugs to keep the women awake and working for several days at a time.

Bland was arrested when police executed a search warrant at his home on Nov. 26. Police said he had a bag of meth, crack cocaine and heroin on him at the time of arrest. Cash, multiple cell phones and other drug paraphernalia were also reportedly found at the home.

Bland was arraigned Nov. 27 on two counts of engaging in human trafficking causing injury, two counts of transporting a person for purposes of prostitution, two counts of accepting earnings from prostitution, delivery or manufacture of a controlled substance and two counts of assault and battery. His bond was set at $100,000.
Bland remains housed at the Oakland County Jail. His probable cause hearing is scheduled Dec. 10.
If convicted, Bland faces the possibility of decades behind bars.
It’s the second major human trafficking case in Oakland County within a week. Just days prior, Prenentice Mack Orr was arrested after reportedly trafficking a woman out of Southfield.
