YPSILANTI, Mich. – Shoppers have the chance to win free prizes at the grand opening of Metro Detroit’s newest ALDI location.
At 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, customers can head to the new store at 1420 S. Huron Street in Ypsilanti to celebrate its grand opening.
The first 100 shoppers will get gift bags with fan-favorite ALDI products and a gift card, which is part of the grocery store’s Golden Ticket giveaway program.
During the grand opening weekend, from Dec. 5 to Dec. 8, customers can also enter a sweepstakes to win a $500 ALDI gift card.
Along with giving away prizes to celebrate the grand opening, ALDI is also donating $1,000 to Food Gatherers.
This donation is part of the grocery store chain’s commitment to donating $150,000 to Feeding America and its affiliates this year to help combat hunger issues in local communities.
ALDI will also continue to work with Food Gatherers to donate excess grocery items for people in the community.
“Our stores are designed to make grocery shopping smarter, faster and easier,” said Ryan Fritsch, Webberville vice president for ALDI. “ALDI is positioned to help keep costs as low as possible because of our disciplined approach to operating with simplicity and efficiency. We’re committed to offering our shoppers the products they know and love at the lowest possible prices, period! We have served the Ypsilanti community for more than 5 years and are excited to continue offering residents an affordable way of shopping.”
This is ALDI’s second store in Ypsilanti. The other store is located at 3299 Carpenter Road.
The stores are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
