FLINT TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 43-year-old Michigan woman died after being struck by a car on Thursday, police said.
Just after 7:15 p.m. on Dec. 5, police responded to Pasadena Avenue near Elmwood Drive in Flint Township after receiving reports of a pedestrian-vehicle crash.
When they arrived, they discovered that the victim, identified as 43-year-old Lana Shields of Mount Morris Township, was allegedly walking in the roadway when an SUV heading eastbound on Pasadena Avenue struck her and drove away, according to police.
Life-saving measures performed by first responders were unsuccessful, and Shields was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are searching for the suspect vehicle, which is a dark-colored SUV that will have damage to the driver’s side and the front grill.
