Man spits blood at officer’s face, resists arrest after high-speed chase through several Metro Detroit cities

Police smash out windows to remove suspect from truck

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – A man is facing charges following a high-speed chase through several Metro Detroit cities and allegedly resisted arrest.

It all unfolded when a woman flagged down a patrol car on Dec. 4, 2024. She told the two officers a man driving a truck tried to run her off the road.

The officers went after the truck and tried to conduct a traffic stop. Police said the suspect, Christopher Johnson, sped away through several cities.

Officers then chased after Johnson to Huron Township, where they were able to stop the truck and smash out the windows to get him out.

According to authorities, Johnson spat blood at an officer’s face and resisted arrest.

Johnson was arraigned on charges of Fleeing and Eluding Police, Assault or Obstruct Police and Operating While Intoxicated.
